Whether are you just starting your journey through the garden or you are an “old pro” looking for new ideas for greater harvests, YouTube is a great place to start. However, there are so many garden channel options that you can easily become overwhelmed and struggle to find exactly what you are wanting at that moment.

When I am looking for specific information about a plant, ready to try something new or figure out how to solve a problem in the garden, I have a go-to list of channels I start searching! I have pulled together 6 of my favorite channels to watch when I want to LEARN something! These are in no particular order because every time each of these channels puts a new video out I declare to the world that it is my favorite channel! Take a look and see what new things you can learn to make your garden grow!

MIgardener: Luke was one of the first vloggers I ever started watching and my first stop when trying to learn something new. He is the garden teacher we all need and never knew existed! Nearly every video he puts on his channel is teaching something.  He has created years of growing guides for every type of fruit and veggie you can imagine and is a master at walking viewers through the steps! Luke lives and gardens in Michigan.

Epic Gardening: Kevin is in a much different climate than I am but that does not hinder my ability to learn from him. He started his channel in a VERY small garden in a rental home and has in the last year moved to a home he purchased with a much larger yard for gardening. He has roughly 9 years of content that will give you hours of knowledge. Kevin lives and gardens in California.

Garden Answer: I love watching Laura for a totally different reason than the others on this list. While she does grow fruits and veggies and does great videos on those, she is a master at all things flowers, trees, and shrubs. With 8+ years of videos, I would spend quite a bit of time on her channel if you want to have lush and beautiful landscapes at your home! Laura lives and gardens in Oregon.

The Gardening Channel With James Prigioni: There is none like James when it comes to enthusiasm for gardening! James has mastered the “Food Forest” and has years of videos explaining what a food forest is, how to build one, and how to use wood chips to repair the soil. He does all of this and more while being shadowed by the cutest little dog, Tuck! James lives and gardens in New Jersey.

Urban Farmer Curtis Stone: On Curtis’s channel you are going to get to see several different things. He started as an urban farmer and market farmer. He has traveled all over North America consulting growers and also learning different things from their experiences. In recent years, Curtis has focused on building food security through gardening as well as starting an off-grid homestead. Curtis lives and gardens in Canada.

Hollis and Nancy Homestead: While the main host of this channel is Hollis, you will eventually meet Nancy, his wife, as well as their dog Bing Bing. Hollis has the only channel I have found that has mainly start-to-finish videos. Most of his videos will start with a seed and end in a harvest. This is so critical for those of us who want to see what to expect before starting! Hollis and Nancy live and garden in Florida.

Of course, this is just the tip of the learning options iceberg! Let me know what channels you follow when you are wanting to learn a new garden trick!
